The Social Science Methodology Graduate Certificate Program

The Social and Behavioral Sciences Council sponsors a methodology certificate program intended for students who have a strong interest in developing methodological skills in addition to their substantive field of interest in the social and behavioral sciences.  The certificate requires completion of 12 hours in approved courses with a grade of B or better, including at least one course outside the student's home department..  A detailed description of the program is available.  Further information may be obtained from the Program Coordinator.

About the Council

The purpose of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Council is to assist the Dean  in the promotion of academic excellence, visibility, and vitality of the Social and Behavioral Sciences in the College and academic community. The Council advises the Dean on issues related to the social and behavioral sciences; provides a forum for the discussion and consideration of common interests of research, teaching, and service among the CLAS units in this area; serves as a coordinating and facilitating council for activities, conferences, speakers, and programs that cut across the SBS departments, centers, and programs in the College; and is the  oversight and coordinating council for the administration of the Social Science Methodology Graduate Certificate.  For further information on the Council, contact the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean's Office.
